YOUR HAIR TEXTURE The texture of your hair will determine the cut, style, and performance of your hair. There are three different textures of hair fine, medium, and coarse. These textures can all be differentiated by the thickness and the amount of body or curl in your hair. For example, fine hair can be thick but have no volume due to the size of each individual hair. Medium texture is the most versatile texture for most hair styles. Coarse hair is the most limited for shapes and styling. Coarse hair with no curl appears to have a lot of volume due to the size of each individual hair. Fine hair is the best texture for a cropped haircut because the hair is soft and forms a softer shape. Coarse hair is best longer due to the thick texture. The shorter one cuts coarse, thick hair, the thicker it appears. Short, coarse hair doesn't lay in a soft shape. Your stylist will determine the texture of your hair and make a recommendation for what shape will fit your features and work with the texture of your hair. Remember, short or too short hair makes most look matronly. |
